I liked C, this is problematic, Can't we say it's referring to fall of temperature?
resulting in D does not look right!

[quote="pzazz12"]The temperature dropped suddenly last night, which will mean that the shoots emerging from the soil will be killed by the frost.

A. which will mean that the shoots emerging from the soil will be killed by the frost.Pronoun referent problem. Which has no correct precedent.
B. which will mean that the frost will kill the shoots emerging from the soil. Same as b
C. and this will mean that the shoots emerging from the soil will be killed by the frost. It distorts the meaning.
D. and the resulting frost will kill the shoots that are emerging from the soil. Seems correct to me.
E. and as a result, the shoots will be killed by the frost, emerging from the soil. Awkward
