THe total price of a basic computer and a printer was 2500 $. If the same printer had been purchased with an enhanced computer whose price was 500 $ more than the price of the basic computer, then the proce of the printer would have been 1/5 of that total. What was the price of the basic computer?

A) 1500 $

B) 1600 $

C) 1750 $

D) 1900 $

E) 2000 $

(1)--> Bc+P=2500
(2)--> x/5+Bc+500=x

Solving (1) and (2) for Bc:

Bc+(1/5)(5/4)(Bc+500)=2500
Bc(1+1/4)+125=2500
5/4Bc=2375 --> Bc=1900

total package = $2500

total enhanced package = $3000

printers cost = 1/5*3000= 600

basic computer = 600-2500= 1900
