This stuff is pure gold!

Quote:
The worst part of a normal week is any flight attendant on a PA system. When the announcement came, “blah blah We have a very full flight blah blah,” I turned around from first class to address the half-full economy cabin and blurted out, “She always says that bulls$%t!” and then kept all my electronic devices on but hidden and reclined my seat back just slightly so as to not be noticed. Since they don’t serve Hendricks on UA, I brought my own. When interrogated about it, I answered the flight attendant’s question with an utterly meaningless “Do YOUR Duty for Free.” I slurred something to my neighbor about this blog, and then blacked out until we landed in Chicago for a connection. _________________ Founder Affiliations: AS - Gold, UA - Silver, HH-Diamond Joined: 04 Dec 2002 Posts: 12823 Location: United States (WA) GMAT 1: 750 Q49 V42 GPA: 3.5 WE: Information Technology (Hospitality and Tourism) Followers: 2735 Kudos [?]: 13616 [0], given: 3866 Re: The Truth About the MC Lifestyle [#permalink] 23 Mar 2009, 14:04 Expert's post I used to be a subscriber to the blog and the guy knows his stuff and definitely funny, but I found it a bit too repetitive and eventually disrespectful (first it is funny disrespectful, but then it sinks in). I contemplated writing up a contribution once (since I seem to have a reputation at my current and previous firms for being "innovative" with our travel policies ), but never got around to do it. Sadly, I'm guilty of leaving my ipod on during takeoff/landing and not getting caught. I should probably stop doing that VP Joined: 09 Dec 2008 Posts: 1221 Schools: Kellogg Class of 2011 Followers: 21 Kudos [?]: 240 [0], given: 17 Re: The Truth About the MC Lifestyle [#permalink] 30 Mar 2009, 03:17 Same here isa. I've even left my blackberry on a few times (usually not intentionally). Amazingly the multimillion dollar state of the art aircraft did not seem to suffer any adverse consequences from my$100 piece of consumer electronics.

We can only assume that GoBruins did not design the airplane you were flying in.

Quote:
"Sometimes [interference] appears, usually it does not," says Victoria Day, a spokesperson for the Air Transport Association, a trade group for U.S. airlines. "It may present pilots with an annoyance, or it may threaten safe operation of the airplane. During takeoff and landing when the airplane is closer to the ground, there is no room for error, and airlines take every precaution to ensure that no interference occurs."
