93. There are 1,200 people. 72% of them are learners, 54% are user-friendly, and 34% are faster starters. The percentage of people who are both learners and user-friendly is 30%. What is the maximum number of people who are neither learners nor user-friendly?

(No answer choices available for this question)

I am getting 48.

No of learners = 72% = 864
No of userfriendly = 54% = 648
Both = 30% = 360

No of people who are either of the two = 864 + 648 -360 = 1152.
No of people who are not learned or userfriendly = 1200-1152 = 48

yup agree with 48

Only learners = 504
only user-friendly = 288
both learners and user-friendly = 360

1200 - 504 - 288 -360 = 48

Drawing a venn diagram gives:

learner + user friendly -> 30%
learner -> 42%
user friendly -> 24%

So neither learner nor user friendly = 100 - 30 - 42 - 24 = 4%

So 4% of 1200 = 48 people neither learner nor user friendly

I like to change my answer... to 228
What's the OA?

my reasoning.. I think i overkill the question... anyway...

I figure out that L has 42%, UF has 24% and (UF+L) has 30%.
But what about (L+UF+FS)?

Since, we are asked to find the answer for MAX nos of people neither L or UF.
We can try to put some people into the category (L+UF+FS) - middle of a vent diagram.
While doing that we must satisfy the rule that total FS are at 34%.

So simultaneous equations of :
1) (42-x)+30+x+(24-x)+y=100
2) x+y=34

x being the category (L+UF+FS)
y being the category of pure FS

Solving, I get y=19%.
Therefore my answer is 19% of 1200= 228
