or another way.

choose 2 from 11: 11*10
choose 2 from 9: 9*8

multiply results and divide by 4, since there can be 4 different orders in 1 pair with same people.

11C2 * 9C2 = 11*10/2 * 9*8/2

= 11 * 10 * 9 * 2

= 990 * 2

= 1980
