There are 7 medicines A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. A and B cannot be used at the same time, otherwise it would produce side effect. How many ways are possible that 3 medicines can be used without producing side effect?

7 medicines and 3 need to be chosen.

If A and B are chosen, then just 1 of the remaining 5 can be chosen. The number of ways that can happen is 5.
