So tricky GmatPrep I think so! We all fall in the trap, OA is not B :-D

My thoughts:

It has to be as much .... as (eliminate A, E)
generated through wind power now makes logical sense - narrow down to B, C

I would go with C mainly because the "it" in option B does not seem to have a clear antecedent (does it refer to Wind power or energy)

Final pick - C

on the train for C on this..

it in D and E what does it refer to?

i have a question, about it..when does it become a passive pronoun and when does it become a vague modifier? i have seen severeal questions..and now i am begining to think i might not fully understand the concept..

A and E has comparison issues with the use of 'than' - as much as is more idiomatic

Among B, C and D, pronoun 'it' has no clear referrent in B and D.

Cool. A and E eliminated. Since as much X AS Y is correct
I feel 'is now generated' is better than 'is generated now' . Eliminate B
'as was the case' redundant. Eliminate C
Answer : D

After I made a warning that Gmatprep is tricky, some of you change the mind. And only four of you choose correct choice!

I think the reasoning we choose one option only because it sounds best really does not widen any right thing on the whole sentence. At the beginning, I choose D also with that reason, and I was shot by OA!
