(1) The area of that rectangle is 8
(2) The length of that rectangle is 4root5

perimeter is the length of the closure of the rectangle, that is to say, twice the sum of length and width. The length is the length itself.

although we don't know whether length or width is the longer one, let's assume l is the longer one, w is the shorter one.Note : l doesn't mean length and w width.(1) l*w=8, l=2w --->w= 2 and l=4 ---> perimeter= 2(l+w) = 12
-->suff
(2) since we don't know if the length is longer or the width, we can't find the width ---> can't find the perimeter ----> insuff.

Nice one laxie. I fell for statement 2 before reading your explanation. We don`t know which side is longer from the question stem.

Very very thanks

(A) is the OA.

I also got A,

a) area = 8

2x^2 = 8 can get one side and the parameter will be 6x
suff

b) lenght 4root5, so the other side can be 8root8 or 2root5 ...so Insuff

Agree with the OA. A is good. In B we do not know whether it is the longer of the shorter side.

I pick A!
1 is sufficient as we dont need to know lenght and width seperately.
2 is insufficient as we dont know which is longer - lenght or width.
