Things to do during the beginning/instructions and breaks [#permalink] New post 03 Oct 2013, 05:01
I don't know if a topic like this exists yet, or even if this is allowed....

But I've noticed in the GMATPrep, you are given time during the beginning/instructions. One of the screens is to practice typing to get a feel for the keyboard. On this screen, I wrote out a pretty substantial AWA template, and was able to copy, then paste it during the actual AWA portion. Does this work during the actual GMAT and is this allowed?

Or if not that, then maybe writing down useful notes on your pad during this time? I know some people like to jot down the question numbers and A-E to eliminate choices. I personally think writing down a list of prime numbers up to 100 or something would be quite useful too, as there's always a quant question where I end up listing them anyway.

Assuming all of this is allowed, anyone have any other suggestions of things to do during this time (to save time during the actual exam)?

copying and pasting did not work on the real gmat for me. I wrote out my template the screen before my prompt showed up, i copied and tried to paste, but it did not work.

Pray

Joking aside, writing out a grid for verbal answers. Otherwise just relax. I found it really helpful to take a deep breath and calm down so I was ready for each section.
