Its C.
Between is used for 2 things and among is used for more than 2.
A and B are out because of the use of 'between'
D and E are unnecessarily wordy.

Agree with the usage of Between & Among but for a 'Group' will among be used?

C seems better if it is 'among investors' and not 'among group of investors'

Can someone please explain

Hi Phonenix72

My opinion,

The intended meaning is that the information is meant to stay ONLY among a small group of investors, NOT a large group of investors.
If we say: "among a small group of investors", we mean investors in general. The meaning is ambiguous. ==> The information is meant to stay among a small group or a large group of investors? we don't know. Because an adjective "small" modifies "a group" (Not investors), so we can't delete "a group".

I don't think this is a very good question. I agree with between being used for 2 people and among for 3+, but a group can be 2 OR 3 people. who says a group is 3+ people?

for instance, if my friend and I register for a boat ride we are considered a small group.

Yeah, I agree that there are some issues with this question. I think it might even be possible to defend (D), depending on what you think the author is trying to say.

And you've all heard my usual disclaimer, but here it is again: the GMAT spends between $1500 and $3000 developing each question, and even the awesome crew here at GMAT Club can't quite compete.

So please don't lose sleep over this one, friends!
