This SC has been discussed before, but I am confused on the use of whether. I thought whether would be used when there are more than two options are available. So I'm a bit confused on the OA here. Any tips?

A star will compress itself into a white dwarf, a neutron star, or a black hole after it passes through a red giant stage, depending on mass.
