Identify the subject. Three AM owners which is plural. Subject needs plural verb own as opposed to owns

B & D are out

C & E use passive voice. A uses active voice

C also appears to change the meaning.

(A) Three out of every four automobile owners in the United States also own a bicycle.
Seems OK.

(B) Out of every four, three automobile owners in the United States also owns a bicycle.
"three automobile owners" is plural, so we should have plural verb "own".

(C) Bicycles are owned by three out of every four owners of automobiles in the United States.
Passive voice.

(D) In the United States, three out of every four automobile owners owns bicycles.
Same As A.

(E) Out of every four owners of automobiles in the United States, bicycles are also owned by three.
Awkward construction.

OA is (A).
But in (A) Three out of every four automobile owners in the United States also own a bicycle.
is it ok to say own a bicycle rather than saying own bicycles
This is one doubt.Kindly clarify

There is similar question in OG (I think related to books). What the sentence mean is each of three owners own a single bicycle, not that combined they own bicycles. Hope it helps.

I will go with A.

Three out of every four ... owners ...also own a bicycle.

Plural subject -> Plural Verb
