Hi,

I work for a leading manufacturer in its Industry. I have two direct reporting bosses, i.e. CFO and MD. So my two reference letters are pretty much set. What about the third?

I casually asked a client of our company and he is more than happy to provide reference letter. I am his only point of contact for the company so all the dealings with him is done by me. Will this make any sense?

Thanks

Sure, having a client view point can be very compelling! Another option to consider - if you have any significant extracurricular activities where an individual in a leadership position has worked closely with you, they can provide a good view into your "personal" character. A client would give a different perspective as well, but it would still be on your "professional" side.

I have worked on couple of projects with an institution on relocating some tribes. I can ask the trustee to provide with a reference.

Thanks for the suggestion.
