Let that fraction is y
10*y = x
x*y = 14.4

substituting 2 in 1
10 * 14.4/x = x
x^2 = 144
x = 12

it is confusing.. increased implies that it might be addition rather than multiplication..

I would use process of elimination
(A) % increase formula beween 4pm & 1pm = (12-10)/10 = 1/5
% increase formula beween 7pm & 4pm = (14.4-12)/12 = 2.4/12 = 1/5
