Time vs. Accuracy [#permalink] New post 15 Jul 2008, 10:30
Very basic question

If you want to maximize your score, is it better to finish all the questions (by skipping some you can't answer in a short amount of time), or to try to answer the hard questions by sacrificing time (and thereby missing a couple of questions at the end)?

I find that I always run out of time for the last 2-3 questions of both my verbal and quant sections.

Would appreciate some advice thanks~

In the real test it is very important to finish all questions in a section. GMAT punishes severely to a test taker who miss few questions in the end. And you can not skip any questions as it is computer adapated. So the best bait is to finish all questions in time and give all questions more or less equal time. You will run out of time only if you spend more than 3 min per question in math and 2 min in verbal. So your best strategy will be to manage time per questions and it becomes second nature by practicing more tests.
