Threaten to is the correct idiom.
C, D out

My answer is B. Here is why:
Threaten to warm is a good construction.
A, C and D have comparison errors.
In C - threaten to warm more rapidly than Co2
In D - threaten warmning more than carbon dioxide's (WHAT???)
In A - Same as C and D. threatern to warm rapidly than Co2
