(A) denotes a once ubiquitous, sometimes criticized, still popular course of study
(B) denotes a one-time ubiquitous and sometimes criticized course of study that is still popular
(C) denotes a course of study once ubiquitous, occasionally criticized, that is still popular
(D) has denoted an at one time ubiquitous course of study, sometimes criticized, that is still popular
(E) has denoted a course of study that was once ubiquitous, was sometimes criticized, and still poapular

The official answer is A. My concern is shouln't it be "
denotes a once ubiquitous, sometimes criticized, AND still popular course of study". In other words doesn't the missing AND make the sentence wrong even though it's the best choice anong others. :?:

I got A.

each "once ubiquitous, sometimes criticized, still popular" points to the course of study. "And" would have made it better, but b/c of limited resources you have to chose A.
