% to GPA Conversion [#permalink] New post 19 Feb 2011, 10:48
Deal Paul,

I am an MBA Candidate from India .

Since in India , as you would be aware , we have a %age system in majority of Universities , i decided to check out my GPA equivalent. I used the Services of WES for that and they pegged my GPA Equivalent at 3.55 . This was but an unofficial equivalent , since they require my Transcripts for an Official Version .

My query is that the Official Service would fetch me aroung 175$ , i wanted to confirm whether the Top 30 B-Schools consider the WES equivalent or whether the Schools require just the Transcripts and convert %age to GPA on their own. Request you to please let me know on that front

Thanks & Regards,
Vikas Bhardwaj

Hi Vikas,

They will either evaluate your transcripts and convert it themselves or they will take your attempt at conversion in good faith. Columbia, for instance, asks you to convert and then to just "show your work." You can use the unofficial WES and then just refer to that.

Respectfully,

Paul Lanzillotti
