Today, Pope Benedict XVI made news by becoming the first pope to resign from office since 1415. Which got us to thinking – Benedict the 16th, 1415…how many years in that time have been multiples of 16?

Solution= 1415/16 = 88,43... therefore, 88 years in that time have been multiples of 16.

Actually, we were wondering about the number of multiples of 16 in the years starting from 1415 to 2013.

And yeah, we are funny people! We eat, sleep and breathe Quant and Verbal! (not to forget AWA and IR)

The solution and a bunch of other questions like that are on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/VeritasPrep Yesterday we turned Mardi Gras into a geometry question and we'll almost definitely have some Valentine's Day love tomorrow! (and we'll drop the solution here later, too, but we might as well give everyone a little more time to work the problem through) _________________ Brian Save$100 on live Veritas Prep GMAT Courses and Admissions Consulting

first multiple of 16 (beyond 1415) 1424 last multiple of 16 (prior 2013) 2000

so answer is = ((2000-1424)/16)+1 = 36+1 = 37
