TOEFL 105. Shall i take it again? [#permalink] New post 19 Oct 2010, 09:28
Hello :)
I would like to thank you guys for all the great data i have found there for my TOEFL preparation :)
My result is 105 (r 24 l 30 s 24 w 27) :P but it is so low mainly due to my nervousness. I was able to misclick in the reading section and skip some questions even without reading them :(
I am just wondering if TOEFL score matters a lot as a selection criteria for universities( master degree) or it is only about passing the threshold. Therefore i cant decide if to take it once again or focus on something like gmat. Can you please help me?:)

It is about passing a threshold in the Graduate programs, so if you are above the threshold, getting a perfect score will not matter. It may add a tiny bit of value to say, I have a perfect TOEFL score, but other than bragging rights, I see no value.

here is a list of programs and their TOEFL requirements: toefl-score-requirements-for-most-popular-schools-80110.html

I agree with bb, it's about passing a threshold. The first time I took it I scored 109 (pretty good score) but I only got 21 in the writing section which is rather low. This is why I decided to take it again. You don't have any section with a really low score so if I were you I would just move on.
