TOEFL after GMAT [#permalink] New post 09 Oct 2009, 12:17
I am quite active in this forum. I guess, TOEFL is not the popular genre in the GMATClub yet :).

Day before yesterday, I gave my GMAT(2nd attempt) and got 720 (q50, v36). I don't have any idea of TOEFL. Please tell me where to start and how long should I prepare for it. I am planning to take a break for a while (GMAT sucked most of the energy, so need to revive myself with some alcohol and parties :) ) and then will appear most probably in November. In between, I will be also preparing for my applications for 2nd round.

Wow - 1,100 posts since June - I'd say that's VERY active :)

Congrats on the 720 - TOEFL is usually easier, but you will see as most say - speaking section is tough and so is listening if you are not used to proper English dialog.

There are only two kinds of TOEFL. One is IBT (Internet Based Test) the other is PBT (Paper Based Test). IBT is available for almost all days, PBT is available only one in one or two months. Registration of both tests are made in www.ets.org

I bumped into this thread a lil late... Just got my TOEFL score 108/120. Lil bummed... i was expected atleast 110.
But then again, i hardly prepared for 2 days. Will post my debrief in a bit.

But in short - TOEFL should be a walk in the park. Just focus on the speaking/listening section. And do give 1-2 mock tests. (i didnt which cost me a few points as i ran out of time in the 1st section)
