TOEFL rescoring [#permalink]  23 Aug 2010, 23:57
On the last TOEFL test I have received unsufficient score - 98 (Reading 23, Listening 28, Speaking 22, Writing 25).
I supposed to receive at least 100 and was sure that Writing section was completed good (310 words first topic and 420 the second one, also had opportunity to check a half of each for errors).

I found a special service of ETS - rescoring writing and speaking. I do not suppose that my speaking could be rescored possitively, but I think that writing could be improved. Has anyone already used these services? Were your scores improved?

Also, I am planning to apply to some top 10 US schools which do not have strict requirements for TOEFL, but requires it. Is it sufficient to have 98 score for that schools (NYU Stern, Columbia, Duke, Haas)?

Sorry to differ from your opinion. If you want to retake TOEFL iBT test you need to pay more than USD 150 (depending on countries). In India it is USD 165 & in New York, USA it is USD 170.

But you can reevaluate your score by paying USD 60.

Best of luck Pavle Is it possible to give just one section again if you want to improve upon your overall score? If yes, that's something interesting to know. In my personal experience, in my first TOEFL I scored 24 in Writing (102 in total), when I expected 29-30. I had written more than 350-400 words in each one, I had time to review and I thought it was perfect. I asked for rescore but nothing changed. I wasted $60. Then I repeated the whole exam and I scored 29 (109 in total). _________________ Senior Manager Joined: 29 Jan 2011 Posts: 378 Followers: 0 Kudos [?]: 89 [0], given: 87 Re: TOEFL rescoring [#permalink] 24 Jan 2012, 14:22 rid82 wrote: In my personal experience, in my first TOEFL I scored 24 in Writing (102 in total), when I expected 29-30. Can you send me link for revaluation? What is the process like ? What if you score decreases ? Do you get a new score with a lower score or your score remains the same?
