Also,I've seen some schools mention that if English was the only medium of teaching and communication in the undergraduate institute from which a student has graduated,he/she is exempted from taking any English test. Is it advisable for me to take their word and apply without the English scores or should I personally confirm with them again?
Either one is fine for most schools (just confirm with your targeted schools). The purpose of this exam for non-native speakers is to confirm that you have the ability to perform and compete in a dynamic classroom environment. Any measure an admissions office has to make this determination is fine. Good luck in your process and focus on the big issues, not minor details like this.
