Can anyone help in how the following two sentences differ ? I am a little confused.

Both are one and the same. Normally, in GMAT, you always have a which followed by a comma.

Rule : "which always modifies the noun or the noun phrase preceding it".

I am running on the treadmill, which is in the balcony.
I was running on the treadmill on Monday, which is in the balcony. -- > on Monday is adverbial phrase which is not a part of noun/noun phrase. More over changing the placement of the adverbial phrase changes the meaning (in this sentence)
