Here we can have two type of ||ism

1. Here ||ism is accd to Frederick Douglass
Too old to bear arms himself, Frederick Douglass served as a recruiting agent, traveled through North and exhorted Black............

2. Here ||ism is accd to Recruiting Agent
Too old to bear arms himself, Frederick Douglass served as a recruiting agent, traveling through the North and exhorting......

A lacks ||ism completely ---> traveled...to exhort
B Too wordy
C Wrong ||ism
D Wrong ||ism
E Same as 2nd sentence above

I think "recruiting"...."Traveling" are not parallel. Recruiting is used as adjective here. Traveling is verb. Hence I think they are not parallel.

Any thoughts guys?

Indeed. The parallelism here is only b/w 'travelling' and 'exhorting'. 'Recruiting' is an adjective modifying 'agent', while 'travelling... and exhorting...' is a phrase qualifying the same noun.
