I believe E is the correct answer because it has the correct structure.

A - misses the 'and' that connects the two verbs
B - Too many 'and's. Redundant structure
C - Not a parallel structure
D - Not a parallel structure

I think the error in A is that the sentence is not complete !

Any takers ? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Can someone explain why A is wrong ?

why is 'and" required there ?

does a dependent clause necessarily need a conjunction ?

a grammatical explanation would be great !

my anz wud be E ....

mainly 'cos it has the FLOW...
A in my view cud be thw rong choice ' cos'' it lacks a connector... it wud be better if it were like'' served as an agent , WHENE he travelled through ...

cos here we wud have a more clear understanding of who did what and when..

pardon me but .. this is not in the grammatical style but its more on the 'instinct'' way...

hope that helps!

Have fun... :)
