Most schools will officially take the best overall score, including its component parts. However, they do see the other scores, and may
take note of a stronger score on a given section. Also, you can use the optional essay to bring attention to a score on a particular section of a different GMAT test.
As for retaking, it depends on your target b-schools. If you’re seeking admission to top-25 level US programs, I would suggest retaking – if
you are confident that with a reasonable amount of preparation, you can score better.
