Took GMAT twice and need advice whether i should retake [#permalink] New post 03 Nov 2013, 02:38
My scores:

1. IR - 6
Math & Verbal 570

2. IR - 2 Failed this one :(
Math & Verbal 670

Did average for the essays (4-5).

How will schools look at the GMAT scores? Do they take the best of each section or do they focus on the test with the best results?

Should i retake?

Any advice is appreciated thanks!!

Most schools will officially take the best overall score, including its component parts. However, they do see the other scores, and may take note of a stronger score on a given section. Also, you can use the optional essay to bring attention to a score on a particular section of a different GMAT test.

As for retaking, it depends on your target b-schools. If you’re seeking admission to top-25 level US programs, I would suggest retaking – if you are confident that with a reasonable amount of preparation, you can score better.
