Ok guys, I am new here as I have been doing quite a bit of internet research in the past couple of weeks pertaining to graduate schools and the gmat. I am currently a 1st semester senior, but I would prefer to study and eventually take the gmat in the next couple of months instead of having it hang over my head during graduation. Anyway, I just downloaded the GMATPrep software from mba.com and I took the 1st practice test. I read a lot of advice recommending to take 1 practice test before even beginning to start studying, to know where I fit in and to grasp my strengths and weaknesses. After taking the test, on the quant my result was 19 incorrect out of 37 and on the verbal my result was 17 incorrect out of 41 . Now before taking this test, I did not prepare for this practice exam even for one second, with that said what do you guys make of my score? I am shooting for at least a 605 on the gmat , how much work ahead is needed given my goal and my practice exam test. Is there a plan any of you guys can recommend me for how I can achieve my goal? Right now in my possession I have purchased the Arco/Peterson GRE/GMAT Math Review 6th edition, and the Official Guide for the GMAT Review 12th edition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You !

Hi Antonio, welcome aboard!

I hope by 605 you mean a target score of 650. Well, your first attempt looks quite ok to me but can you let us know your scaled score on gmat prep. Was it above 600?? I hope when you will go through all the prep material, you will be very near to your target score. For chasing a plan suitable to you, kindly go through this link gmat-study-plan-for-gmat-novices-start-your-gmat-journey-80727.html.

I hope you have already gone through the detailed reveiws of different CATs & reading materials, if not then you can check those here

Best of luck for your preparation & keep in touch.

Mr. Hussain 15,

I tried looking for my score with the gmat test prep but I cannot find it on the software. I already took the test and there is no where in the software where I can find something to the lines of last score, previous score, highest score, etc.

Actually the score in gmat prep appears as soon as one finish the test. Once you click "Next" after seeing the score screen, the result cant be seen again. The best way is to take a snap shot of the score screen for future use.

Isn't there any .text file like diagnostics file in the folder where GMAT software is installed because as far as I remember people do check some file to note down their correct & incorrect questions.
I don't recall the path of that file and also the thread where it was mentioned. Maybe someone expert can help here. Or google keywords related to finding previous GMAT Prep score and who knows you may find the thread where it is mentioned.
