Top 20 Best GMAT Books on GMAT Club [#permalink]

This is GMAT Club's Most Popular 20 GMAT Books Please also see this recommendation: Best GMAT Books Did you ever wonder which GMAT Books are most popular? We did! We looked at our forum and counted the number of times each of the GMAT prep books has been mentioned by our members and created a popularity ranking. Not sure about you, but I was surprised a little to see the books that made it to the top. On the other hand, the search results included all references starting with 2003, so potentially popularity of some books is inflated as others were not yet available back then. But again, at the end of March we will release the updated ranking that will reflect only results for March. I am not sure how to best post tables in the forum, so here is one version and also another version with links at the bottom: Code: Also, let me know if there other notable books we should include into our ranking and we will keep track of those as well. [b]Here is the same list but linked to Amazon.com - you can read their reviews as well. 1. The Official Guide for GMAT Review2. Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction3. GMAT 8004. Official Guide for Verbal Review5. Official Guide for Quantitative Review6. Kaplan Verbal Workbook7. Kaplan Math Workbook8. Cracking the GMAT by Princeton Review9. Kaplan Premier Program10. Manhattan GMAT CR Book11. Powerscore Critical Reasoning Bible12. Manhattan GMAT Number Properties Guide13. Project GMAT Advanced Math14. Manhattan GMAT Word Translations Guide15. Powerscore Sentence Correction16. GMAT for Dummies17. Manhattan GMAT Geometry Guide18. Manhattan GMAT Fractions, Decimals, and Percents Guide19. As always, I am highlighting books that lost positions in red and books that gained positions in green.

Manhattan GMAT strategy or Prep??????????????? [#permalink]
13 Feb 2011, 08:30
I am confused about difference between Manhattan GMAT Prep guides and strategy guides. The 5th and 6th rankings at this forum ( top-20-best-gmat-books-on-gmat-club-76582.html ) consist "8 Manhattan GMAT guides" and " Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction". Are they stand for Prep guides or Strategy guides? What is the difference between prep and strategy? Which one would be better to buy?

I'm colourblind. So, it all looks the same to me I know I represent a minority group, but instead of using colours, it would be cool if you could use a symbol. e.g ˄ Manhattan Sentence Correction [Up] ˅ Official Guide [Down] {No offense, official guide} :D

I'm glad it helps. You can take a look at this thread with reviews for most of these books: top-gmat-prep-books-guides-reviews-comments-77703.htmlThis thread should provide more details about which of them fit you best. desiaggie1980 wrote: CIO, thanks a ton for the ranking, this is definitely a treasure for me at this point to decide the sequence to approaching the material!

Is there any sequence of approaching the MGMAT strat/ prep guides, I have started with guide 3 on eqns, inequalities and VICs, chapter 6 on inequalities is killing me! I cannot memorize rules, always thought math is more intutive , anyways need some guidance from ppl who smoothly glided thru the MGMAT strat guides in their gmat battle, personally I just want to give up, mgmat strat guides are real draining! Thanks entwistle, basically all last 15 problems out of 30 in the chapter 6 exercise came out wrong; may be becoz for this chapter I got lazy and didn't take any notes, I will try to send a PM later outlining my exact goof-ups.. Little background: I am not good at quant basics: gave gmat prep1 10days ago and got a 45 in quant with 15 problems wrong! Posted from my mobile device

@ BB Thank you for the reply; it really saved my money and time. Thanks a ton! Have you reviewed the book "The MBA Reality Check: Make the School You Want, Want You"? I think it's a hidden jewel. It has got 5 out of 5 in the Amazon.com reviews (11 reviews). bb wrote: Schawjibb wrote: Any ranking/review possibility of/on EZ Solutions series, please?
