Traditionally, decision making by governmental policy makers that is based on solid statistical evidence has been considered preferable to more seat-of-the-pants, intuitive decision making. However, a recent study found that top governmental policy makers use intuition far more often than low-level governmental policy makers. This strongly supports the opposite view that decision making using intuition is more effective than decision making based on statistical evidence.

'A' - No connection with conclusion above.
'B' - Fickle thought. no concrete reasoning for the conclusion.
'C' - No direct linkage in absolute term.
'D' - It is dividing the situation in Improtant Decision and unimprotant decision.
'E' - Right and clearly explain the situation.

Two methods for decision making
-statistical
-intuitive

"... top governmental policy makers use intuition far more often than low-level governmental policy makers..."

Assumption:-
May be the decision making chosen by the officials(intuitive) yield more accurate results/beneficial results, so the intuitive decision making is often preferred.

(E) has it.

conclusion is : This strongly supports the opposite view that decision making using intuition is more effective than decision making based on statistical evidence.

therefore assumption is top govt officials are better policy makers (e)
