All the ultra elite schools do not ask for official transcripts, except for one: Kellogg. It needs Official, sealed transcripts. Has anyone tried asking for a waiver (submit a self-reported one now, and an official one when admitted)?

I noticed this as well. I actually asked the question at an information session, and I didn't get the sense that there was any leeway regarding this. Strange.

Why would you? Just pure laziness? I can't imagine asking this would "help" your application.

Yeah... I think it is a pain too, but still... what does that say? "Hey... I'll get you what you want but only if I am admitted?" If I were part of admissions and someone pestered me on that point I'd be mad.
As an aside... I'm exhaused from uploading my MIT transcripts. Gotta scan 'em, but making sure they are no greater than 250k, then get them in an acceptible format like a .doc file... They don't take .mdi, .tiff, or .jpg as one might expect. So I had to scan 'em in .jpg and then insert them into a word doc. Crazy business, but done.

My university in india is not so responsive. I have to request my dad to go collect transcripts and fedex it to me. But i guess, i gotta do it at some time anyway..

I had a similar experience for my undergrad... the univ was not very responsive with sealing envelope, signing flap, etc... My suggestion is to try and bribe your way out if you are running out of time... worked like a charm for me atleast
