Dear Scott / Omari,

I want to applying to Stern Part-time MBA for the session starting this Fall semester. I am having some problem with my transcripts. I completed my under- grad and post-grad in India (I am currently in the US) and had applied for the issue of original transcripts. But I found out a couple of weeks back that my transcript application was never acted upon because I did not also submit some additional documents that they require. I will be re-submitting my application and will probably get the transcripts only after a month (after May. 21, 2006).

My problem is that the deadline for Stern part-time is May 15. I am not sure if the best approach is to apply to Stern by May 15 and let them know that transcripts are on the way (Would it look disorganized to adcoms) OR just wait and apply for the Spring semester? Please advise.

Have you called Stern and asked them? My general advice to to avoid looking disorganized to the school, but they may be a little more forgiving. Call and ask. It won't hurt.

I did speak to the admission people at Stern. They encouraged me to apply. So I am going to go ahead for the May 15 deadline.
