Hello!
My name is Karan and this is my first post.
The last post on said topic which I could find was in 2008. Hence, the new discussion.
I plan to apply in the R1 of a few US colleges, ISB and INSEAD. My question is whether university sourced transcripts are reqd or college sourced ones would suffice. I wanted to know about the transcripts rqmnt of the following colleges:
1. Booth
2. Kellogg
3. Kelley
4. Ross
5. INSEAD
Any input given will be much appreciated.
Thank you all.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking in terms of university sourced vs college sourced. For most schools a scanned copy of an unofficial transcript is sufficient. You will probably need to send an official paper copy on acceptance. For individual school's requirement I suggest you look at their website and it is usually retry clear what they require with regards to transcripts.

Thanks domotron. :)
The issue is that my university personnel/ "systems" are such that I shall require at least a 3 day visit to the university (200 kms away from college) to get the work done. And that too if I manage to find an acquaintance in Administration. On the other hand, getting transcripts from the college is easier.
I wanted to know if I should plan a leave at work and go visit the university so that I have the right documents ready before deadlines knock. I have a touring job and have to plan 2 months ahead.
Thus my question.
I will ask all B-Schools in question once the Admission Process starts. But I hope I don't get too late especially because I will be an international applicant and want to apply in R1.

I'm not not understanding what the difference is. However just make sure you have your copies of the official transcript ready by R1 and you should be in good shape.
