Triange ABC is an isosceles right triangle; Triangle DEF is an equilateral triangle with height EG. What is the ratio of the area of ABC to the area of DEF?

1) The ratio of BC to EG is 1:1
2) The ratio of AC to DF is sqrt(3):2

Cause the ratio of the area's can be calculated from both the 1 and 2 .

My guess is D also.

Any side of the isosceles 45-45-90 triangle and we can solve for the other two. Any side of an eqilateral triangle and we can find the height by using the pythagorem theorum.

OA is D.

Since these are special triangles (right-isosceles and equilateral), with one side we would be able to find the other.

Hence either of the stmt is sufficient to solve the question.
