Well I can speak for myself.

Both of my recommendations were submitted 3 to 5 days after the official deadline. I think Tuck Adcom does understand that most recommenders are very busy, like in my case, my boss could only submit it on the weekend.

Hope this helps.

I don't know about Tuck specifically, but I've always heard that you shouldn't send any more materials than a school requests. Schools want to keep it a level playing field for all candidates and don't want to be inundated with materials for which they didn't ask.

Don't deluge the adcom with extra recommendations - they're busy enough as it is, and it shows that you're disregarding the instruction of submitting two recommendations.

It is one of those things where the adcom doesn't want to give an answer that could let applicants overlook rules and deadlines but they might let you on the boat as long as you don't appear too negligent. Despite all the advance notices you can give, recommendations are ultimately out of your control and I think they get that.

If I were you, I would drop in a mail to the adcom explaining the situation and get a confirmation from them (esp if the delay is only a few hours), just to sleep better !

Definitely wouldn't have them submit an official recommendation, but if an actual Tuck alum, who actually knows you well, "spontaneously" chose to send a brief message/email to the Adcom expressing how much they think you will add to the Tuck community, it certainly couldn't hurt. Who are you to stop them?

I had an odd situation with one of my recommenders, and adcom was extremely helpful. I would definitely reach out if you are concerned.

Hi Guys,

Awfully quiet down here. Did any fellow international candidates interview via Skype recently? If so, could you please elaborate on your experiences, how long was it?

Thanks

Had a skype interview this week. Very relaxed. Not trying to catch you out or anything like that. If you are confident about "Why MBA? Why Tuck? Why now?", I think you'll ace the interview. I think it was supposed to be about 30 - 45 minutes, but we ended up talking for a while longer...

Ciao

Yes, I'm interviewing in Mumbai. I was earlier supposed to interview via skype but later got an email asking to interview in-person.

Hi guys,
I haven't received an interview invite yet. Do you think that there going to be more invites for international students (EA)?

Hello~
I'm an applicant for the EA round and recently invited to Skype interview.
Although the Admissions Team told me that an interviewer would be arranged within two business days - before or on Nov. 10, I haven't received any further emails yet.
I've also sent an email to get any feedback, but haven't got any replies.
Do you think that I need to call?
Does anyone know whether there's an Internet connections problem at Hanover because of Hurricane Sandy?
It's getting nervous as time goes by! Please give your opinion. :)

I wouldn't call until the time frame they have given you has passed. If they told you before or on Nov 10, you should wait till the 11th to check in. That said, I would definitely call on the 11th and ask for my status (restating the time frame they already gave).

If they offered you an interview that's a great sign. Some of us are still in purgatory. Best of luck!

Invites now are only for EA rounds. Others can correct me if I am wrong.

I had the same issue for the deadline around 8th. So I emailed one of the adcom I personally had met before. She fwded my request to the person-in-charge. Et Voila, I got an email within a day's time. I would suggest you to wait till the deadline as the adcom explained me that sometimes its difficult to match the availability of your interviewer (generally a second year student).

You are right but I think Mudit was also referring to EA invites (standard confusion between R1 and EA :) )

FYI.. I was part of a Tuck online chat this morning and the admissions coordinator re-iterated that interview invites can go out anytime between application deadline and the decision day.

I can't speak for traffic, but parking kind of sucks. Your options are the visitor lot, then taking a shuttle, or you could try paid parking in town and walking to campus. In all honesty, the latter might me quicker.

I drove from Boston, left around 6:45 or 7, got in around 9:20. had plenty of time to park in the visitors lot and hop on the shuttle. You should be fine where ever you decide to park.
