For those of you not in New England, I'd like to share the following message that the National Alert System just sent out to everyone's cell phone:
"Severe Threat Alert Message
Blizzard Warning this area til 1:00 PM EST Sat. Prepare. Avoid Travel. Check Media - National Weather Service
Response Type: Evacuate
Urgency: Immediate
Certainty: Likely"
Wanna bet this screws up the calls tomorrow?

The National Alert System has been recently expanded / is in the process of expanding to enable mobile alerts nationwide for before/during/after disasters. The capability is new which explains why you didn't get one during Sandy. I can't speak to if all of NE got the alert but its likely the majority of that area.

So it seems that no US applicants have received a call today, and all admitted applicants will receive a call tommorow. Any info to contrary?

Hmm - it seems unfortunately they didnt call people yesterday. Despite the storm, the decisions will come out in time I'm sure as they would already be in the system, but it must have made it tough for the staff to make calls. Nonetheless, you all will find out today irrespective and my best wishes to all of you all.

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone tomorrow! I remember how brutal Dec 14th was and I totally sympathize. For you students applying from an int'l location, my BF and I both are based in Asia but I got a call (evening Asia time/AM US time) and he got an email late in the day US time almost before the online notifications were available. Don't give up hope and I sincerely hope to see you all at ASW!

However, I have a feeling that the school will call admitted students today - it just won't be Tuck if they don't call The human/contact angle is very high at the school. All the best

Thanks Everyone for the wishes!! str1der - Work was always going to be a lost cause ! Funnily enough, when I didn't get called last night (Indian applicants are called a day earlier usually), I didn't so much lose hope, as told my wife 'There must be something wrong with the phone lines' :). And then I saw the news about Nemo, and immediately felt a surge of hope. Then, this morning happened ..... I'm just grinning like the Cheshire Cat at this point ............ feels so awesome to update my status to Admitted :):):):) Cheers, MBAWanderlust
