This morning I checked my application page for Fuqua, which was a ding, than for Ross, which was a wait list, and was about to cry any moment from disappointing results when I opened Tuck. I saw the decision notice page starting off with "Congratulations!" and I just cried...
I checked my cell phone and there was a call from a private number I missed during the night (or morning EST).

I wonder what determines who gets called today vs tomorrow. Seems very random!
Who knows? I'm sure each person has a list to get through, and they get as far down that list as possible.
I'll assume they sort in descending order by shoe size, if your last name begins with A-M and Acceding order if it begins with N-Z, they then use a proprietary algorithm developed by a consultant 5 years ago to randomize that list of names. They then cut those names into strips of paper, and place them in a hat, whoever an adcom member picks, they call.
That is just one of many theories... the majority of my others include the use of a monkey, but this one seems the most likely...

Hey everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that I just got the call informing me of my acceptance. I've been pretty quiet on here, but reading everyone else's postings has been essential to keeping my sanity. I hope everyone else receives good news today or tomorrow and I look forward to seeing you in Hanover.

Got the call this morning that Tuck is awarding me the Consortium Fellowship. It looks like it's going to be Tuck for me at 95% probability. As long as my fiancee can secure a post-doc, we'll be heading for Hanover in the Fall.

Tuck's location is a HUGE liability, one that makes it not competitive against the likes of wharton/booth/columbia. While people at those other schools can easily interview for jobs in NYC or Chicago, Tuck students have to take a long trek just to get to a major city. This makes recruiting extremely tough.
This is not really true at all. As a current student I can tell you that the majority of companies that most people would be interested in give interviews on campus. All the major banks and consultancies plus the majority of "gold standard" GM programs give on campus interviews. McKinsey actually place a full time member of staff in Hanover for the recruiting season. So you'll have access to the majority of companies that you'll want to recruit for. Niche occupations are admittedly a little harder, PE and VC will require you to look to the Tuck network to find job opportunities, but then it's well known to be the best alum network in the world so that's no trouble either. As for travel, there is a coach to Boston every couple of hours that has air conditioning and Wifi, most of us use that time to get work done. There is a coach a couple of times a day to NY, but the better way to get to NY is to fly from Lebanon airport ($100 each way) which is a 45 min flight. Also, when you travel for second round interviews usually the company you are interviewing with will pay for your travel and a hotel.
The GMATClub forum was a pretty good source for me to ask random questions and get some solid answers when I was going through this process last year. It's also a good place to freak out about getting into schools with other people.
Anyway, I did EA to Tuck (and EA or earliest round possible to two other schools), got in, and ultimately picked it. I'm going to be starting at Tuck in the fall, so if anyone has questions about the school, app process, selection process (once you get to that point), whatever, I'm happy to answer to the best of my ability. I don't check this site all too often though, so if you have an urgent question feel free to send me a personal message.
Good luck. Wow, I can't believe this cycle is starting over again... feels like I was just in your shoes yesterday.

So, now I have finally made my decision. I paid the deposit yesterday. It actually felt pretty good to spend those $2,500. Now I'm really looking forward to get started in August. I hope to see many fellow gmatclubbers in Hanover.

Just had my interview and some time to kill before heading back.
Overall the interview was very casual and conversational. I think the key is to be as genuine as you can and just engage in conversation with the interviewer.
A 2nd year student interviewed me and she took a lot of notes. Lasted ~45minutes. :
1. Walk me through your resume 2. Why an MBA? Why Tuck? 3. Describe a time you failed. 4. Describe a time where you had to persuade someone to go with your idea 5. What would you have want me to ask you? (this was a surprise) 6. Do you have any questions?
