Answer is D : 3

Difference = Average
H - L = (H + L)/2,
Solving for H/L gives 3. A quick check, H be 15 and L be 5, 15 - 5 = (15 + 5 )/2

H-L= H+L/2

2H-2L=H+L
H= 3L
H/L= 3

D is the answer

H-L = (H+L)/2

2H- 2L = H+L

H = 3L

H/L = 3

D is the answer.

We can create the equation:

H - L = (H + L)/2

2H - 2L = H + L

H = 3L

H/L = 3

Answer: D

Given

Height of the taller person = H

Height of the smaller person = L

The difference in the height = Average of the height

\(H - L\)= \(\frac{(H + L)}{2}\)

\(2H - 2L\)= \(H + L\)

\(H = 3L\)

\(\frac{H}{L}\)= 3

The correct answer is D
