any thoughts on this matter - opinions are most welcome and sorry for hijacking the thread..
ps - i have only 12 more hours to make a final decision as i have to pay the deposit for hkust tomorrow. Aviroop, just my 2 cents- from your profile, I guess that you are in the consulting industry. I don't know much about other places in Asia, but Tokyo certainly offers generous opportunities in your industry provided you have an US MBA.

This was in a sense a tip-off from the ad com that informed people well before they were dinged of their fate. In other words, if your status changed and you didnt get an invite within 48hrs, you were most likely dinged.
Did this happen to round one applicants this year or was this fixed? i'm R1 and i got dinged w/o interview and my online app status did go from "...will contact you if we have any questions" to "...will receive decision by decision date". not sure how much i read into that. but just fyi.

I haven't gotten invited yet either. US based as well, albeit not in SoCal.

"As we had many more round 2 applicants than in recent years, we anticipate sending out interview invitations quite possibly up to just prior to the decision release deadline. We realize this is a very anxious time for applicants and appreciate your patience as we give each application the thoughtful consideration it deserves. I hope you receive the outcome you desire!" Wow, that restores a little of my quickly fading hope. Thanks! Out of curiosity, where did you read that? I sent a mail to the admissions office, and that was their reply.

Duke is ranked higher but if you want to work on the West Coast, it's hard not to think UCLA will give you the better opportunity and network. I agree. Duke is ranked a little higher, but the program doesnt have as huge a network as maybe a top 5, so the slight ranking advantage definitely doesn't offset te huge benefit that UCLA will give you on the west coast. Plus, all the same mid to large companies recruit from all of the top 20 schools anyway, so you might as well be in the optimal location and fit.

I doubt that UCLA Anderson will be sending interview invites these days. Has anyone got admitted this week? Got an interview invite May 29 if that helps. They said they would update my application status no later than June 6. Good luck, everyone.
