Re: UCLA Anderson 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]

Guys, I am in real dilemma. I have admit from Ross (no scholarship) and Olin (Wash Univ. - full ride). Now I should have ideally headed for Ross but the school has closed down it's non cosigner loan program for International students. Also I find that though full ride from Olin is a great thing, the school is not so great in Consulting - my target career track. As a last option to get into a place where Consulting career is easier to get in, I am thinking of UCLA as an option. Does UCLA entertain International applicants in Round 3 - deadline is April 18? My GMAT is 750, 9 years of work experience into IT/Financial services firm. You can post here or PM me if you have any specific pointers. Regards, Sumit.

Regards, Sumit. Here is what the school says: Round 3 admits include strong candidates from around the world, and getting a student visa in time for fall enrollment is easy. Found here: http://www.anderson.ucla.edu/x21329.xml

You're definitely being too pessimistic. If you look at this application cycle's RD 1 thread or last year's RD 2 thread, PLENTY of people were admitted on the final notification date (many with $$). As long as you were invited to interview, you're in the game. azsamanta wrote: goodbyeboy wrote: azsamanta wrote: So if we don't get admit by now, should we take as a Ding? No, if you did your interview, you'll hear back on 4/4. If you haven't received an invitation by now, then it might be bad news. Posted from GMAT ToolKitYeah, I know that I am getting paranoid. However, looking at the fact that many candidates already received the admit call, I am not sure how many will receive on 4th..or may be I am getting to pessimistic..

Does anyone know if it's possible to get fellowships/scholarships in R3 for Anderson? I've been wanting to apply, but I prioritized the schools which invited me to apply since I figured they would be more likely to give me $. Made it through a few schools, but regretting now that I didn't pursue Anderson. Money's a real issue for me though - any hope that they still save some fellowship money for round 3?

Hii..yes, I had an interview with a second-year student. The interview went, well, pretty..umm..cold!! No trick question, pretty straightforward questions that one might expect - why MBA, why now etc etc. However, I felt the vibe was missing. And for some reason I am not very good at interviewing with current students - Booth & Yale: both the interviews were taken by current students and both got me ding!! Two schools that had interviewed me through Adcom selected me!! ..might be just a coincidence, but at least I have statistics with me!!! . Now I am looking forward to UCLA to see if that curse is lifted. Regarding my profile, pretty average. Lower than mediocre GPA, 7 years of experience@ IT Consulting (but yes, I got very early leadership opportunity there) and Indian! So no way I am a star!!

For those who have interviewed but are still waiting a decision, could you share what is the status on the application portal? Mine just states: Admission decisions are released by the date shown on the schedule at www.anderson.ucla.edu/x21329.xml

This is the reply I got from a lady in the adcom on 3/26: "Yes, interviews are still being conducted. Hang in there!"
