UCLA Anderson vs Michigan Ross (both without money) [#permalink]
02 Jan 2013, 13:55
Hi all,
I'm aware that there are a couple of Anderson vs Ross threads out there but I'd like to ask same question for technology / entrepreneurship concentration. I have been admitted to both without money and would like to work in west coast in technology / ecommerce (general management) after graduation or start a business depending on my financial situation. I am an Asian international student so I am also interested in the better school for Asians in terms of networking and student life.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks and good luck to those applying this year.
Vu.

I think Anderson is the obvious choice here. Take a look at the employment reports and you'll see that Anderson places heavily in Southern Cal and also the Bay Area. Demographically speaking, there's a reason some joke that UCLA stands for "University of Caucasians Lost among Asians" (I'm not trying to be offensive here) Ross is a great school that places surprisingly well in the Northeast, but for your goals, I think Anderson is the right call. Oh...and congrats on the admits!!!

For the record, I am the lone Ross voter. That is, I WAS until I looked more closely at the Anderson employment report. Of course, I knew Anderson placed loads of grads in California, but what I did not know is that Anderson places 20% of its class in Tech. I think the easy answer here is Anderson. And, if you get into Haas, that makes this conversation moot. Although I probably don't need to tell you that .

Lets get to the heart of the matter: Anderson has In N' Out and Pink Berry. Ross does not. Advantage: Anderson

As an asian international and a big fan of Ross, I still vote for Anderson.

@CobraKai: your interpretation of UCLA is funny Thank you everyone for your helpful advices and opinions. It's been tough cuz I like both schools. I'm leaning towards UCLA but have not decided yet, although I have to say Ross gives applicants a lot of love. At the moment, I'm still waiting for Haas decision and will be trying to get off Kellogg wait list.

Alena,
After I posted this topic I received 20k from Ross and 40k from UCLA and admission off waitlist from Kellogg. I have declined Ross and now am considering between UCLA and Kellogg.
Thanks again everyone for your replies.
Vu.
