UF's MAIB - Several Questions [#permalink] New post 05 May 2007, 08:08
I was just looking for some opinions on UF's Masters of Arts in International Business. Does anybody know anything about it? I am contemplating doing it right after I graduate from undergrad since that is what they say it is designed for.

A little bit about me is that I go to a i believe forth teir school, little state school in florida. I will be double majoring in International Business and Marketing and a minor in French. I have a *.* gpa and a *** GMAT. These both place me way above the class profile for the MAIB of 3.43 GPA and 557 GMAT. I should be able to get good recommendation letters so getting in IMO should not be too hard. But I am also planning several years down the road trying to get my MBA but hopefully from a bigger school, maybe Michigan.

Would the MAIB be worth it? Any opinions are greatly appreciated. :-D

Why do you want to get the MAIB now as opposed to waiting a few years? If you have strong job prospects with your current degree program it would seem logical to work for a few years and then pursue grad. school.

Yeah I'm just wondering about my job prospects since I am coming out of a small state school that isn't considered to be very good. I may just apply as a back up but not really plan on it.

Sorry Ships, not too familiar with that degree.

I am thinking more and more about actually doing the MAIB at UF. I found out someone I know went there and liked the program. Also said it helped open some doors. I just think it would help boost my career prospects to have a masters degree. I will still apply to other entry level positions and if I recieve an offer I like I may just wait for the MBA later.

Hi, Lngbrdr, I came across a U.S. News and World Report rankings list for international business specialities. I currently reside in Hawaii and I know University of Hawaii-Manoa has a great Asian-market focused program. Hope this helps....
