I took the GMAT for the first time a few days ago and am at a bit of a crossroads with my score, with the low quant (44) but high verbal (45)/IR/AWA.

I received a 750 (Q49, V44 I believe) on the Veritas Prep CAT I took two days prior, so I'm not sure which one is a fluke. My average was probably around the 47 range, so I was definitely disappointed by the Q44 (but the drop was nothing egregious). I felt pretty crappy about the section from the start, never really got in a groove.

I am an Air Force officer with a somewhat quant heavy job (nuclear launch operations, including computer programming for simulators and data analysis for leadership), 3.3 GPA in Economics/Business Mgmt (the semester after I had my desired job secured and was convinced I'd never need my college GPA, I got the only three C's of my career --all in quant courses. Just......perfect for showing a weakness even if I performed well in my other quant classes. Damn immaturity/senioritis!) Stratified in top ten percent each performance report, top graduate from nuclear launch systems training course, all that stuff.

Basically, I'm not opposed to retaking but I'd love to just move on and perfect the other parts of my R1 applications. I am most interested in Kellogg, Tuck, Darden, Fuqua, Ross, Johnson. Do I need to retake the GMAT or maybe do something like MBA Math to demonstrate quant aptitude?

Thanks for any advice I can get, I really appreciate it!
