whether or not is usually always incorrect do A and C are out

for ll we need remains .... changes and remains so B is out.

Now you have to choose between D and E.

I will pick D.

in E thus sounds awkward.

Isn't the use of 'although' in D changing the meaning of the sentence?

Go with B. "Whether or not" is wrong..so we are down to options

B, D and E.

D - although is odd
E - remains thus - is odd

D.

ABC all use remaining when it should be remains. these are not || w/ "changes" ealier in the sentence. even w/o changes its easy to see that the singular remains is perferable to remaining..

DE. Both are awkward and I went w/ D b/c E is too odd.
