Hi
Greetings mate!
I have an undergrad degree in Medicine from India and a Masters from Sydney University. We don't follow the GPA system in India and there is not a huge difference between passing and acing the exams in medicine. How would a top B school look at my undergrad GPA.Will they take into account my masters degree as well or GPA is all about undergrad?
Nihit,
Sorry for the delayed reply. Schools tend to put greater weight on the undergrad GPA versus grad school GPA. They won't view your medical school's grading system negatively and will probably have someone on staff who is familiar with it. If they think your undergrad GPA is too difficult to use as a gauge of your academic ability they may put greater weight on your GMAT score. They will give you some credit for having studied medicine, which is obviously a brain-intensive major. Also the unusualness of your undegrad major will help you stand out from the pack.
Good luck,
