I plan to use this post to compile all the information I can about breaking into this industry. I hope other members can contribute towards creating a guide about this fantastic industry.

Overview

The Commodity/Energy Trading industry is a largely unknown industry that dominates and controls the trade of some of the most valuable commodities. Countries and producing firms sometimes depend on these firms to make a market for the commodities they mine/grow or to find them a buyer. I was surprised to know how large this industry is; some of the largest firms post hundreds of Billions of dollars in annual revenue.
