Unique question...Please advise!!! [#permalink] New post 09 Oct 2012, 04:51
Hi mbaAMission consultant

I am currently working towards submitting my application to Johnson and Fuqua in Round 1 and I have the following question to which I would request your view points-

1. My previous employer at the time of my resignation handed me an experience letter which included details about the nature and duration of my work. Additionally the letter contained the following statement at the fag- end - “Mr. XXX voluntarily resigned from his role and we are sorry to see him go. Mr. XXX was a valuable employee at our company and we would be happy to rehire him if an opportunity presents itself in the future". I was thrilled to see this statement in the letter.

So, my question to you all is, is it a good idea to attach a copy of this letter with my application even though there is no separate section in the online application for something like this ? If yes, in which section of the online app form do I upload this?

My reason for this query is that I don’t want to come off as a guy trying to desperately prove his candidacy to the admissions committee by providing information they have not asked for.

Request you to provide your inputs and sincerely appreciate your help. Thanks.

Hello,

I'm a little confused -- if you left on such good terms with your employer, can't you ask them to write one of your recommendation letters? That would probably be the most appropriate thing to do. Let me know if I am missing something.

Thanks,
Mili

Hi Mili

Yes, I have requested my previous employer for a recommendation letter. My question was that in addition to the recommendation letter, would it be appropriate to include this letter in the application package.

Appreciate your inputs. Thanks.

If you already have a recommendation letter from this individual, then I would not include an additional letter from him/her. If you want him/her to include a sentiment that's in this other letter, just ask him/her to update the letter to include something similar.

Good luck,
Mili
