Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could share their thoughts on the Part-time MBA Program at University of San Francisco. I'm from the Bay Area and would like to stay here and Haas and Stanford are way out of my league, so I would really like to go to USF.

About me; I graduated from CSU Sacramento in 2003. I have pretty low GPA (about 2.6 overall and 2.9 major). My GMAT is 690. I know USF's gmat range is about 550+ and GPA is 3.1.

I have held Positions in Public accounting for the past 3 years and now i'm with a Fortune 500 company in the corporate accounting. I'm also in the process of getting my CPA licence.

I was wondering if you guys can evaluate my profile and tell me if I have a fair shot at getting into USF or even at the Santa Clara University

I am not an adcom expert, but looking at your profile,I think you have a good shot.Your low GPA can be offset with higher GMAT score and a decent work experience.Besides your target school is not in the top tier so they should be willing to accept you.

if you have a good stroy to tell, Santa Clara is certainly a great fit and UCSF would be cake.

The only school I'm planning to apply is USF.

I hadn't thought about santa clara, but I will definitely consider it. I would rather stay in SF though. I don't think UCSF offers MBA program, only in bio/med etc.

Have you looked at the UC Davis program in the Bay Area?

The UC Davis program is held in San Ramon, technically a longer commute than he turned down with Santa Clara. I would look at the Haas Part time program, it is closer than either of the other options commute wise to S.F., and much higher rated.

UCB Haas is a great program, but it looks like MBA2Bee addressed Haas in the initial post. There are a number of other schools in the metro area, it just depends how far one wants to travel. Other AACSB options include SFSU, SJSU, Sonoma State, and CSU East Bay.
