I believe the problem with C is "they" is not clear in what it refers to - people or the skills themselves.
If it refers to people then the meaning is changed.

OG rather says that C changes the meaning, as C says analytical skills bring out disinclination, whose meaning is not close to A.

It has to be D.

C is wrong as anandk pointed out; 'they' is vauge. Plus to, C does change the meaning because its not the skills themselves, but its the peoples skills.
