Re: Unlike football, which is played on a standardized field, [#permalink]
I would go for C.

fotball should be compared with baseball.
and also a field to another field.

I go for C. Apart from parallel comparison, you play a ball game 'on a field'.

what's the oa.

crazyfin said -a single field cant vary in size. which is quite logical but
still C sounds better to me.

C sounds better to me also. I understand the explanation for D, but it just sounds wrong for some reason.

OA?

OA is D!

The reasoning acc to OE is same as crazyfin's......but I'm not convinced ....are we comparing standardized football field with a baseball field's size and shape OR are we comparing baseball fields' size and shape ?

Ok I was going to go with C...but then I read crazyfins explanation...

lets foucs on what the key thing we are testing here...

D makes sense given that in C we are saying that one field varies in size etc...while if we look at the stem, its impling that all the fields that baseball is played on vary in size and shape...D maintains that...

D should be it...

D should be correct because people donot play baseball on only one field; they can play in many fields. C and E means baseball can be played in only one field.

in this question, if we assume the sentence "Baseball is played in a field" as correct, we will have problem in choosing the correct one because C and E, both, have gramatically correct expression. So it is not possible to two AC are correct. So, only D avoids this confusion and is the correct one.

I ll go with C

baseball is played on a field that varies considerably in both size and shape. (as compared to a standardized field on which football is played)

"D"

Bet C and D, D is correct becose as wrongly stated in "C" ...."a field" can't start varying in size and shape i.e. one field will have constant size and shape, however, a gp of fields can vary in size and shape.

Good lord! That's a careless mistake I made. D is the best choice!
